Silicone Roof Coating
Silicone Roof Coating single component silicone elastomer
ThermoSeal SRC is the registered trade mark for ThermoSeal silicone roof coating.
ThermoSeal SRC is a single component, silicone elastomer designed for the protection of spray polyurethane foam roof systems. With its high solid content, ease of application and rapid cure times it makes for one of the most durable coatings in the industry available for SPF roofing. ThermoSeal SRC has superior durability, reflectivity, weather proofing and mildew resistance. ThermoSeal SRC was developed for protection from degradation caused by normal weathering and aging caused by ultraviolet exposure. With the addition of ceramic roofing granules embedded into the final coating surface, superior abrasion resistance is achieved.
- Seamless Waterproofing
- Environmentally friendly
- Energy Saving
- Reduced life cycle costs
ThermoSeal SRC may be applied through high-pressure airless spray equipment. Rolling or brushing may be used for touch-up, flashing and edge terminations or to fill voids, pinholes, holidays or small cracks. ThermoSeal SRC should be power mixed for 5 minutes, thinning is not recommended.
Apply ThermoSeal SRC only to clean, dry, sound surfaces, free of loose particles or other foreign matter that may interfere with the adhesion of the coating. A primer may be required subject to type and/or condition of the substrate. Final cured dry film thickness must be free of voids, pinholes, holidays, cracks or blisters.
Apply 2 or more coats at the rate of 1-1.25 gallons per 100 square feet per coat; using contrasting colors to provide for uniform coverage. Minimum dry film thickness shall be 20-30 mils dependent upon application. ThermoSeal SRC may be applied directly over itself and over most other silicone roof coatings.
When recoating older silicone coated roofs be sure the surface is clean, dry, and that all holes and underlying damage has been properly repaired. The existing coating may have to be power washed with an appropriate surfactant solution then power rinsed to remove foreign matter.
ThermoSeal SRC must be protected from freezing during shipment and storage.
Apply ThermoSeal SRC when ambient air and substrate temperatures are between 50-85 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not apply when there is a possibility of temperatures dropping below freezing within a 24-hour period. Higher temperatures will shorten the cure time and working time for proper application of granules. Lower temperatures will lengthen the tack free and ultimate cure time. For best results, relative humidity should be above 20%. Lower humidity will slow the cure rate significantly.Download the Silicone Roof Coating specification sheet here.
